Trevor Spencer Jnr’s Blog. 20.January 2013.
I have been asked to complete my own personal Blog for the Finch family Homepage….. so here goes.My name is Trevor Spencer jnr. I am the son of Trevor and Jacqueline Spencer (nee Finch). I was born in Ormskirk Hospital on March 12th. 1976 and have lived in Burscough, Lancashire all my life.I went to St. Johns C.of.E Primary School, 1981-1987. I enjoyed most of my time at Primary School and had a favourite teacher, well didn't everybody? Mine was Mrs Rodgers. I was always involved in the Football Team at Primary. Towards the end of Primary School, I was involved in a serious R.T.A. I was knocked over by a motorbike whilst crossing the A59 in Burscough. I suffered a Fractured Skull, Broken Ribs, Broken Ankle and serious Burns and Grazes down the left hand side of my body. I can still remember to this day, I had been in hospital of couple of days, and one day I woke up and to my pleasure my Nan, Murial, was sat at my bedside with her friend Connie Dobbin . Tears, Cuddles and Kisses.Between 1987-1992, I attended Burscough Priory High School. I enjoyed most lessons, loved Maths and History but hated Geography and French. I was massively involved in Football Again. Whilst at Priory High, I was chosen to represent West Lancashire and then Lancashire at Football and also representent Lancashire at Olympics, I was chosen to run the 400m, I won my heat but only came in 7th in the final, never mind, it was still a massive achievement for myself. Outside of school, I had joined Burscough FC, where I was playing for the Youth Team and Reserves, and even made several appearances for Burscough FC 1st team in The North West Counties League. After school, football and fitness became a massive part of my life. I was playing pub football for The Cambridge in Burscough, whilst still playing for Burscough Youth/Reserves.I started At Preston College 1992-1993 where I studied Information Technology. I past my course with a Merit Achievement. After College, all I wanted to do was to play football. I'd been chosen to play for Wigan and District, reaching the semi-finals, then IT happened! One Saturday Afternoon, shortly before my 21st birthday, playing for The Cambridge, I ruptured my Left Knee. I tore my Cruciate Ligaments, snapped my cartlidge and damaged all the tendons around my knee, I have never felt pain like it in my life!!!I Started work at Universal Bulk Handling in 1993, working as an Office Clerk. From here I applied and got a job working within the Factory at Universal Bulk Handling, a job were I would be working with my Dad. The Company Manufactored Stainless Steel Road Tankers. In the end, the company went into Liquidation....... unemployed! From here I was employed by Group 4 Security, transferring Prisoners from Jail to The Courtrooms in the "sweatbox" prison vans. I was transferred from driving the prison vans after an R.T.A where a Female Driver turned the van over with me in the passanger seat. I was based at Preston Crown Court for 18 months in a job that I loved, taking prisoners from there cells up to the courtroom, recording what happened in court and back to the cells, to say I met some interesting people is an understatement!!!!Whilst in Court one day, a prisoner I was handcuffed to tried to jump over the dock and escape, as I restrained him on the floor, I trapped my wrist underneath him and when my collegues jumped in to help, my wrist snapped breaking my scafoid bone in the process. 5 operations later on my wrist and now I have been left with very limited movement in my right wrist. I've had loads of different jobs between then and now ranging from Debt Collecting for 3 different companies, driving a 7.5t truck doing multidrop deliveries, civil engineering, Salesman for Everest Home Improvements. I'm currently working for The Co-op Bank. I've worked there for 14 months so lets see what the future holds. My life outside School and Work is very quite these days now that I am older and have yet to met the love of my life, but before this.... OH MY LIFE!!!!I've been on the lads holidays, I've caused chaos in Tenerife, Loret de Mar, Budapest, Amsterdam and Prague. I went to watch my Favourite Football team, Manchester United abroad in 1999.We went to Milan and Barcelona, where we watched them lift the European Champions League Trophy.I've been drinking in the pubs of Burscough ever since I damaged my knee in 1996, Thursday's, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, staggering home, falling into hedges. Mum says I am pretty similar to how my Grandad Jack use to be, staggering home in his younger days! Many people used to say I had a drink problem which I always laughed off............looking back at myself, maybe they were right. In 2009, I met the Love of My Life, Miss Kimberley Wright and I’ve never looked back since. Together we've enjoyed holidays to Egypt, Torrimolenos and Lanzarote. Life has never been so enjoyable. In May 2012, I proposed to Kim. We were walking the dogs down the Canal in Burscough, it was a Beautifuly Sunny Day, and I got down on one knee....She said Yes, thankfully. We are currently saving for a mortgage, so the wedding could be a few years down the line yet!!!Later in 2012 I bought myself a Mountain Bike, just so that I could take part in The Manchester to Blackpool bike-ride, 62 miles, with a friend of mine. We decided that we'd do it for Christies Cancer Hospital and on crossing the finish line, together we had raised over 1500 pounds. What happens next? Lets wait and see !
